KENWOOD TM-D700
General
The Kenwood TM-D700 is a dual band FM-transceiver with separate control panel which is
perfect for remote control via Internet. The idea of remote controlling TM-D700 is simple; it's
just to extend the cord between the radio and the control panel using Internet. When you
press the power button on the panel the radio comes to life at the remote side and sound and
panel info flows across the Internet between the pair of RRC-1258MkII:s. The look and feel of
the panel is the same as if the panel was directly connected to the radio.
Hardware configuration
It's very simple to Interface the TM-D700 for remote control via the RRC:s. You only need to
make two simple cables. One from the Control panel to the Control-RRC and one from the
Radio-RRC to the Radio. The standard mic (MC-53DM) provided with the TM-D700 can be
used and connected directly to the Control-RRC. From Radio-RRC to Radio normally a
standard shielded FTP patch cable can be used for the Mic-signals. A standard audio cable
with 1/8" inch connectors are used for the audio. A speaker is also needed as there is no
speaker in the Control panel.
Remember that the function buttons on the microphone will not work but. The DTMF buttons
are working. The Packet radio functions are not tested but the normally used functions works
as in the normal setup.
